University of Melbourne specifies Swiss GriP Non-Slip for Vinyl Flooring

Application Type:

  • Commercial

The Melbourne School of Design and Architecture specified Swiss GriP Non-Slip for vinyl flooring to prevent slip and falls. The water-based coating has upgraded the existing vinyl flooring in work shops at the University of Melbourne to a P3 slip-rating.

The Glyn Davis Building houses the Melbourne School of Design and Architecture and was designed by John Wardle Architects. It houses the next generation of architects, urban planners, ecologists and was build with a focus on sustainability.

The University houses several workshops where students can develop their ideas. Several of these workshops faced slipping hazards due to fine dust from cutting machinery. The vinyl flooring did not provide sufficient grip and therefore the university had Swiss GriP Non-Slip installed to eliminate the safety hazard.

Our Swiss-made coatings are in line with the sustainable mindset of the university as they are water-based, non-hazardous systems. Moreover, our premium quality coatings have outstanding adhesion to vinyl, creating long lasting slip-resistant surfaces.
