Product Performance
GriP Safety Coatings AG and its daughter company Swiss GriP Australia Pty Ltd are a leading manufacturers of non-slip coatings. All our products are developed and made in Switzerland, guaranteeing the highest quality.
To underline our excellent quality, we provide an industry leading 24-month warranty on adhesion. This warranty is valid as long as Swiss GriP Non-Slip is applied in accordance with instructions for use and maintained in accordance with our Technical Advice and Maintenance Instructions (available upon request). This guarantee does not cover coating failure caused by any breakdown of existing coatings where Swiss GriP is applied over them, or in the event of substrate failure. No warranty exists for surfaces previously treated with hydrophobic-, nano- or water-or other repellent coatings/sealers, and/or solvent based coatings/sealers. Customers are encouraged to make their own enquiries as to the material’s characteristics and, where appropriate, to conduct their own tests in the specific context of the material’s intended use. No warranty exists for the use of any abrasive tools (scouring pads, scouring cream, steel wool, harsh brushes, etc.) and wear. Avoid contact with hair dye products, colour mousse, etc. Allow the surface to dry for at least four days prior to rigorous cleaning in order to ensure maximum durability.
Our warranty does not cover any water penetrating through the surface from underneath. While our products are designed to provide slip-resistance on various surfaces, they are not intended to be used as a waterproofing solution. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the surface is properly sealed and waterproofed before the application of Swiss GriP products. Any water damage that occurs due to the lack of proper waterproofing or inadequate surface preparation is not covered by our warranty. Around pools and other areas exposed to water, it is recommended to measure moisture level to determine suitability of applying Swiss GriP. Swiss GriP shall not be held liable for any damage or loss resulting from water penetrating through the substrate where the coating is applied onto.
Swiss GriP is not responsible for any efflorescence forming under our coatings. Efflorescence is a natural process caused by the migration of salts to the surface of the substrate, and it can occur for a variety of reasons, including moisture, temperature changes, and chemical reactions. While our products are designed to provide slip-resistance on various surfaces, they are not intended to prevent efflorescence. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the surface is properly prepared and free from any potential sources of efflorescence before the application of Swiss GriP products. Any efflorescence that forms under or around our products is not covered by our warranty. Swiss GriP shall not be held liable for any damage or loss resulting from efflorescence forming under or around the coating.”
Our warranty is in addition to and does not detract from any rights and remedies you may have under any applicable consumer law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian and New Zealand Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for any major product defect as supplied. You are also entitled to have the goods replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Slip Resistance
The Swiss GriP coatings have been certified by CSIRO Australia in accordance to AS 4586:2013, with slider 55 and 96. In tests, the slip-ratings of our coatings perform better than anti-slip treatments and in some cases even perform better than anti-slip tiles. However, it is important to understand that the measurements undertaken should not be take in isolation. In any complaint involving slip, the floor surface, the footwear, and other environmental factors will all have an important bearing on slip resistance. It will be impossible to make either footwear or floorings slip resistant under all conditions which are be exposed to wear. Although Swiss GriP Australia’s coatings are designed to provide slip-resistance on various surfaces, we cannot guarantee their long-term effectiveness in preventing slips and falls. This is because we cannot control the level of wear and tear that may occur on the surface over time. While we stand behind the quality and performance of our products, we cannot provide a warranty on their slip-resistance beyond the initial installation. It is important to regularly maintain and clean the surface to ensure optimal performance. We also recommend to regularly test the slip-resistance of the surface by a NATA accredited slip-testing company. Swiss GriP Australia Pty Ltd shall not be held liable for any injury or damages resulting from the use or misuse of our products.
