Travertine pavers are a very popular, durable and stylish flooring solution and is often installed around pool areas, just like at our customer in Malvern East. However, the surface got extremely slippery in wet conditions. Therefore, Swiss GriP was applied to create non-slip travertine tiles.
Travertine is a natural stone which is formed by a process of rapid precipitation of calcium carbonate, often at the mouth of a hot spring or in limestone caves. The pavers are durable and can withstand any weather conditions when sealed correctly. However, when polished they can be extremely slippery, especially in wet conditions.
Swiss GriP Non-Slip is a dual-component, water-based polyurethane coating. It effectively seals the surface while providing a CSIRO-certified slip-resistant finish. Therefore, our durable and UV-resistant coating was the ideal solution to make this pool area slip-resistant.
In total, our installation team applied Swiss GriP to 25m2. Our installation service includes a pre-application surface cleaning, the application of our primer/sealer and the application of Swiss GriP Non-Slip PRO.
