This outdoor concrete floor in Box Hill caused several slip and falls in wet conditions. To eliminate this safety hazard, Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline with a P4 slip-rating was applied. Besides excellent durability, our non-slip concrete floor coating is VOC-free and UV-resistant.
A common problem of epoxy coatings is that it is very hard to achieve a consistent non-slip finish. The epoxy coating applied prior to Swiss GriP had an inconsistent non-slip finish, causing slips and falls. Therefore, the facility manager of the shopping mall selected Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline to replace the epoxy coating.
After sanding down the epoxy coating, two layers of Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline were applied. Unlike Epoxy coatings, our non-slip concrete floor coating is designed to be slip-resistant. Therefore, our coating has achieved a P4 slip-rating in wet conditions. This has eliminated the slipping risks at this shopping mall.
