Sails in the Desert is perfectly positioned near the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Uluru and Kata Tjuta National Park. Uluru is just a 20-minute drive away, and guests can relax at this five star resort. The property has an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and a relaxing day spa. Swiss GriP was selected to create a Slip-Resistant Pool Area, to protects guests and staff from slips and falls.
The pool area have soaring white sails installed, which provide shade under the Outback sun. The terracotta tiles installed around the pool however, proved to be a slipping hazard. Therefore, the resort look for an slip-resistant solution, without having to replace the tiles.
After trialling Swiss GriP Non-Slip and an anti-slip treatment, the resort selected our durable coating over the etching treatment. Besides our CSIRO-certified status, our coating convinced Sails in the Desert due outstanding slip-resistance and durability. Moreover, our coating is transparent and UV-resistant. So even under the Australian Outback sun, our coating does not yellow over time.
In total, our coating created a slip-resistant pool area of 150m2 of terracotta tiles.
