However, a drawback of this flooring solution is that it can be extremely slippery, especially in wet conditions. Swiss GriP is the leading solution to create slip-resistant polished concrete.
Our customer in Surrey Hills selected polished concrete as the flooring material for their house extension. It is an astonishing example of concrete flooring merging between the interior and exterior of the property. Unfortunately, the outdoor concrete area got extremely slippery in wet conditions and did not pass the Australian Standard for Slip Resistance (AS 4663-2013).
Due to the design of the floors, it was important for our customer to not change the look of the exterior concrete floor. Therefore, Swiss GriP Non-Slip PRO was the ideal solution to create a slip-resistant polished concrete floor.
Besides upgrading the concrete to a P4 slip-rating, our water-based coating has also sealed the surface, protecting it against the elements. Moreover, our coating is certified as antimicrobial and is water repellent, making cleaning and maintenance easy and fast.
