Located in the historic Railway Station on the banks of the River Torrens, SkyCity Adelaide is South Australia’s premiere casino. Besides the Casino, SkyCity offers offers visitors a wide selection of restaurants, cafés and bars. To improve health and safety standards, SkyCity selected Swiss GriP Non-Slip to create slip resistant floors.
The SkyCity Entertainment Group is one of Australasia’s leading gaming and entertainment companies, employing over 3,400 people in New Zealand and Australia. To prevent slips and falls, SkyCity was looking for a solution to make existing vinyl and tiled floors slip-free at the Barossa Café.
The Health and Safety department wanted a durable solution which would meet and exceed the Australian Standard for Slip-Resistance. Moreover, the casino did wanted to avoid anti-slip treatments as this solution had previously stained the historic tiles. Furthermore, anti-slip treatments do not work on vinyl.
After a careful selection process, SkyCity Adelaide selected Swiss GriP Non-Slip. Our solution was chosen due to our excellent adhesion and durability on tiles and vinyl. Moreover, our coating creates an antimicrobial, slip-resistant finish which is easy to maintain while also sealing and protecting the surface. But most important, Swiss GriP was able to guarantee a P4 slip-rating in accordance to AS 4663-2013, something anti-slip treatments are not able to do.
In total, about 250m2 of vinyl and tiled floors were made slip-resistant. Our certified technicians in Adelaide carried out the installation within two days. The works included a pre-application deep clean of the surface and the application of Swiss GriP Non-Slip PRO P4.
