Huntingdale Golf Club, located in the heart of Melbourne’s world famous ‘sandbelt’ region is one of Australia’s most prestigious private golf courses. Rising to fame in 1979 with the inaugural hosting of The Australian Masters, Huntingdale has emerged as one of the most recognisable golf courses in Australia, and the world. Swiss GriP Non-Slip was selected by INARC Architects to create a non-slip staircase, leading to the golf coarse.
In August 2014, a new clubhouse was realised, which was designed by INARC. The clubhouse was designed with materials with a direct link to the beauty of the outside course. Dark bronze, reclaimed cypress timber, charcoal walls and copper highlights are finishes used throughout.
The clubhouse features a staircase which all golf players use to access the golf course. Although nosing strips have been installed, the ceramic stair treads posed a high slipping risk, especially in wet conditions. Especially players wearing spiked golf shoes had to be careful not to slip.
After a successful two month trial, Swiss GriP was professionally installed on all the stair treads as well as the landing of the stairs. “The product is working great”, Cameron Tortolano, Operations Manager at Huntingdale Golf Club explains. “We notice a big difference in slip resistance and our members find the same.”
Swiss GriP Non-Slip PRO was applied in combination with Swiss GriP Sopro Primer to create a non-slip staircase. Our installation service include a pre-application surface cleaning, application of the primer and the Swiss GriP Non-Slip Coating.
