The Botanical Hotel is located in South Yarra at the edge of the Royal Botanic Gardens. It provides sophisticated dining and warm service and holds the Ft. Gourmet Traveller’s Victorian Wine List of the Year. Swiss GriP was selected to create non-slip stair treads.
The Botanical Hotel cares about safety for guests and staff. Therefore, management wanted to make the marble stairs slip-resistant. Moreover, it was looking to replace the stair tread tape with a more aesthetic and durable solution.
With Swiss GriP, the Botanical Hotel was able to do both. Our transparent non-slip coating created a non-slip stair tread while our tinted coating made the treads clearly visible to prevent trips. By having our non-slip solutions installed, the hotel now complies with AS 4586 as well as 1428.1:2009. The first standard covers regulations for slip-resistance whereas the latter concerns design for access and mobility.
Swiss GriP Non-Slip PRO Transparent was applied to the stair treads and Swiss GriP Safety Floor Coating in black was applied to nosing of the stair treads. Both coatings were professionally installed by our certified applicators.
