The Salt Water Swim School in Maddingley has upgraded their ceramic tiled floors with Swiss GriP Non-Slip to improve safety for swimmers. To create a non-slip pool with a P3 slip-rating in wet conditions, our solution was chosen for its durability, and effectiveness.
Ceramic tiles are a popular choice for swimming pools and wet areas due to their aesthetic appeal and durability. However, when wet, ceramic tiles can become slippery and pose a risk of slips and falls. Although the newly build Swim School was promised non-slip tiles, management soon realised they were not compliant and posed a high slipping risk.
To protect customers and staff against slips and falls, management decided to upgrade their existing tiles with Swiss GriP Non-Slip. Our coating is a high-performance system that creates a durable, non-slip finish on a variety of materials, including ceramic tiles. It’s durability and water-repellent effect makes it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas like swimming pools. In addition, Swiss GriP Non-Slip is environmentally friendly and has been certified by independent testing laboratories for its effectiveness and safety.
The installation process of Swiss GriP Non-Slip was quick and hassle-free for the Salt Water Swim School. The ceramic tiles were first cleaned and prepared, and then Swiss GriP Non-Slip was applied. The result was a compliant, non-slip surface that not only met the P3 slip-rating requirements but also looked great.
Conclusion: By upgrading the existing ceramic tiles with Swiss GriP Non-Slip, the Salt Water Swim School has avoided the need to retile all floors. This has realised huge cost savings and there was no downtime for the Swimming School. Most importantly, the safety for swimmers has been improved and the risk of slips and falls has been reduced.
