The Eifel Tower in the heart of Melbourne houses the Adina Apartment Hotel as well several floors with residential apartments. Visitors and residents can both use the pool and gym facility on the 13th floor. To guarantee a slip-free area, Swiss GriP Non-Slip was applied to the ceramic tiles surrounding the pool.
The tiles had previously been etched using an anti-slip treatment. However, this treatment did not provide sufficient slip-resistance in wet conditions. Therefore, management was looking for a solution which could guarantee a P5 Slip Rating in accordance to AS 4663-2013 (Slider 55).
Swiss GriP Non-Slip is the only CSIRO-certified non-slip coating in Australia with this slip-rating. Therefore, management of the tower decided to have Swiss GriP applied to the tiles around the pool as well as the stairs and entry hall.
