Sense Of Self is Melbourne’s biggest bathhouse and day spa. Located on the border of Collingwood and Fitzroy, it occupies a double storey converted brick warehouse. The luxurious designed wellness centre includes a pool, sauna, cold plunge, massage, and health programs. To protect customers from slips and falls, Swiss GriP Non-Slip PRO was installed on all concrete painted floors.
During the renovation of the bathhouse, Sense Of Self had a floor coating applied to the concrete floors. However, after opening the floors were extremely slippery in wet conditions. Even after a new layer with an “anti-slip grid” was applied, the floors were still slippery. Therefore, Sense Of Self started looking at alternatives and a builder recommended to have Swiss GriP applied on top of the concrete floors.
Unlike many other floor coatings, Swiss GriP is designed to be slip-resistant. This makes our non-slip coating unique as we are independently certified in every international anti-slip standard, including AS 4586 and AS 4663. The floors at Sense Of Self were upgraded to a P4 slip-rating after Swiss GriP was installed. In total, Swiss GriP was applied to 200m2 surface area to create non-slip painted concrete floors.
