Completed in 2017, The Fawkner Residences is a $300-million repositioning of a 19-level former office building along Melbourne’s famed St Kilda Road Boulevard. LAS Group created 246 luxury apartments, boasting uninterrupted views over either Fawkner Park or Port Phillip Bay, along with exclusive amenities. Swiss GriP Non-Slip was applied to create a non-slip indoor pool.
Located right next to Melbourne’s best-known office, residential and commercial buildings, The Fawkner Residences also benefits from being close to Fawkner Park, Albert Park Lake and the Royal Botanic Gardens. Moreover, nearby lifestyle hubs such as Prahran, St Kilda and Melbourne CBD are in walking distance.
A haven for green space, each luxury apartment within The Fawkner Residences has access to a luxurious swimming pool with views of surrounding parklands and interior design with natural palettes inspired by nature. Furthermore, residents can enjoy amenities such as a steam room and a sauna.
After several slips and near misses around the pool, the LAS Group decided to improve the slip rating of the bespoke natural stone tiles. Initially, the tiles were grinded to create a “rougher” finish. However, this did not improve the slip resistance in wet conditions. After a careful selection process, Swiss GriP Non-Slip was selected of an anti-slip treatment to prevent any further slips and falls.
Our durable, UV-resistant coating was professionally installed by our technicians. In total, our coating has made 190m2 of natural stone tiles slip-resistant. The LAS Group preferred Swiss GriP over anti-slip treatments due to our P5 Slip-Rating guarantee and the fact our solution does not damage the surface it is applied onto.
