This apartment complex on Chapman Street in North Melbourne has exposed concrete slabs providing access to each apartment. As the surface got slippery in wet conditions, our non-slip concrete floor coating – Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline in Traffic Grey – was specified to eliminate slips and falls. Moreover, our coating has provided a visual upgrade to the apartment complex.
This project included two different types of concrete slabs. The majority of slabs were polished concrete with a worn down purple paint applied (not from Swiss GriP). The other slabs were unsealed, unpolished concrete slabs. Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline has upgraded both surfaces with a coloured, slip-resistant finish. The colour selected for this project was Traffic Grey. Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline is also available in a range of other colours.
The works were completed over two days. The first day the slabs were lightly grinded, cleaned and the first prime layer of Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline was applied. On the second day, the finish coat of Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline with a P4 slip-rating was applied. The pictures showcase the finished application along with a picture of the surface before the application of Swiss GriP Aqua Floorline.
