UrbanFloat in Ringwood is one of Melbourne’s leading sensory deprivation centres. The wellness centre provides an unique flotation experience with premium quality floatation “eggs”. UrbanFloat selected Swiss GriP to create non-slip and antibacterial showers.
The floatation tanks are filled with salt water to replicate the experience of the death sea. Each tank is located in a private bathroom with shower where visitors can come to rest and the flotation experience removes the sensation of gravity.
To protect visitors from slips and falls, UrbanFloat was looking to improve the slip-rating of the tiles in the showers. After an unsuccessful trial with an anti-slip treatment, which stained the tiles, the wellness centre enquired with Swiss GriP. As our solution is a coating rather than an etching product (like anti-slip treatments), it creates a protective non-slip finish on the surface.
After a trial, Swiss GriP Non-Slip P3 was applied to all showers. An additional benefit of the Swiss GriP coating is that it is certified as antibacterial in accordance to ISO 846, guaranteeing a hygienic safety solution. Furthermore, Swiss GriP is water and dirt repellent, which makes it easy to maintain.
